Michael Freeman

Yoga Teacher

Powerful, energising, and playful, Michael’s classes use yoga as a moving meditation to invigorate the body and sharpen the mind for deeper self-awareness. Expect to sweat through a dynamic flow, focusing on building physical and mental strength, but also having fun along the way. His classes are rooted in the belief that personal transformation comes from within and that it is in our dedication to our discipline we can find freedom.

Michael’s classes are open to all levels and bodies of all shapes and sizes as modifications are given to either scale up or scale down the practice. He wants to make yoga accessible for all: desk therapy for high intensity jobs, nourishment for athletes and gym bunnies, and a tonic to alleviate the physical and mental stress of daily life through posture and breathwork. Yoga is not just for the naturally flexible – just as you don’t go to a gym because you are strong, you go to become stronger.

With 12 years’ experience in martial arts and a Tae-Kwon-Do blackbelt, Michael focuses on physical alignment to help students build confidence and become more embodied. He provides students an open space to strengthen, lengthen, and release as with alignment of body comes alignment of mind. Using anatomy cues and yoga philosophy, Michael aims to empower his students to develop a strong and connected practice to unlock their true potential through self-belief.
